About Me

Hi there! I'm Catie, I'm a mental health advocate, a nature enthusiast, a devoted cat lover, and simply, a healer.

My path to therapy and mental health isn't just a career; it's a journey that started with my own life. For as long as I can remember, I struggled with really tough anxiety that often made just getting through the day incredibly hard. It was finding a therapist who truly listened, truly heard me, and made me feel seen that everything clicked. In that moment, my passion ignited, and I realized: I want to be that same comforting presence for others on their healing journeys.

My undergraduate studies in psychology and criminal justice gave me a strong foundation, but it was hands-on experience in nursing and working on a crisis line that really clarified my purpose. I saw firsthand the profound need to focus on healing the mind, and that's what led me to social work.

I truly understand the stigma around mental health—I've lived it. It's incredibly isolating to struggle when it feels like the whole world dismisses what you're going through. That's why I've made it my mission to advocate for mental health care. I'm dedicated to not just helping individuals heal, but also to pushing for changes in the systems and policies that hold us back, making sure mental health support is truly available and normalized for everyone. It's why I'm so passionate about sharing resources and education on mental health, social work, and therapy, hoping to build a more understanding and supportive world together.

Professional Bio

I hold a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Biology, alongside a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in International Relations, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of both the neuropsychological aspects of human behavior and the profound societal impacts of political and justice systems. My global perspective was further enriched by studying abroad in London. My hands-on experience extends to nursing school training, focusing on direct client care, and extensive work in crisis intervention, where I guided individuals through challenging life moments. As a certified yoga teacher, I also integrate somatic healing and mindful movement into my practice, firmly believing in the powerful mind-body connection to help clients release tension, regulate their nervous systems, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and calm on their path to well-being.
